German up-cycling interior products company LPJ Studios made its foray into fashion at Bluezone in Munich, Germany on Tuesday.

The company, best known for high-end rugs and pillows made from scrap fabric, collaborated with seven fashion students from AMD Akademie Moda and Design in Munich to develop upcycled garments for specific occupations.

A brand rep told RIVET the collaboration is a unique way for LPJ to dabble in apparel and share its sustainable message.

Designs include a miner’s uniform inspired by photographs of 19th century working class, a doctor’s coat with bleached-out denim and quilted arms and a gardener’s jacket with a bright green collar, floral embroidery and whimsical swirl stitching.

The final products are on display at Bluezone at Munich Fabric Start until Sept. 7.
