With the premium denim market on the rise, J Brand is putting a familiar face back in the creative driver’s seat.

The brand announced Tuesday that Susie Crippen has returned to J Brand as creative director, the premium denim label she co-founded with Jeff Rudes in 2004.

Crippen served as the creative director for the label from its start until 2010, when she and Rudes sold their majority stake in the company to Star Avenue Capital. Since then J Brand has continued to change hands. In 2012, Japanese conglomerate Fast Retailing bought a majority stake in J Brand from Star Avenue, and in 2014 Rudes left his position as CEO.

Now with Fast Company, owner of Uniqlo, Theory and Helmut Lang, controlling J Brand, Crippen is taking back the creative reigns of her denim label.
