Luxury denim brand PRPS unveiled its collaboration with rapper 2 Chainz on Dec. 4 in New York City. The collection, which features five men’s pieces, takes influence from the rapper, most notably with jeans emblazoned with bold graphics and blasts of orange.
The line, available starting Dec. 15, is part of PRPS Noir label, its most expensive line. The limited edition styles retail between $600 and $1,200.
To fete the occasion, PRPS hosted a who’s who in fashion, media, and entertainment at its New York showroom. Iconic MC Raekwon played tunes the entire night, while MTV reporter Nadeska Alexis moderated a Q&A between the Grammy-nominated artist and Donwan Harrell, the creative director and founder of the denim line.
On PRPS’s collaboration with 2 Chainz, Harrell told Vibe, “It was an awesome opportunity to have [2 Chainz] participate. He gave up some really good ideas conceptually with the colors and things of that nature. And, it was just my job to take what his entity was and create it. And, I think we did a really good job of that. If you actually look at the project it sort of exemplifies his lyrics. It came together pretty organically.”
