As the menswear market continues to grow, Project Las Vegas (February 16-18) is shifting its focus to better highlight men’s fashion.
The Collective, the men’s fashion showcase, is going digital this year. The show is launching a Brand Book that provides viewers a sneak peek of brands that will be on the show floor. The Collective is also debuting Instagram and Twitter accounts to update visitors and share stories and inspiration. Brands exhibiting at The Collective include Akademiks, Barbie, Vintage Leather, Rocawear and BCBG.
Additionally, the Designer Collective will feature first-time, contemporary menswear exhibitors including brands Southern Tide, PVH neckwear, Ike Behar and Zanetti.
Complementing the new offerings in menswear, Project partner and trend forecaster WGSN will hold a panel at the show titled “The Future of Menswear” to explore the development of the menswear market and its current state. The panel will include Eric Jennings, VP and fashion director, menswear, home, gifts & beauty at Saks Fifth Avenue and Volker Ketteniss, director of menswear, WGSN.
Ketteniss said, “Men’s attitudes towards fashion and retail are changing rapidly and the Project shows are a fantastic platform to engage with the evolving retail and fashion audience.”
Project will also cater to another emerging market, gender neutral apparel. Luxury and designer space The Tents will focus exclusively on dual-gender labels. The brands exhibiting include Ty-LR, Whyred, Belstaff, David Hart and Max & Chester.
Project Women’s, meanwhile, is continuing its sustainability focused “Conscious Collections” marker. The show places a sticker on booths that will offer trends from brands that practice sustainable and ethical production methods. Brands participating in the Conscious Collections Showcase include Bauxo, Half United, Liberty Garden, Me to We and N: Philanthropy.
Tommy Fazio, Project president and fashion director, said, “When designing this show, our focus was on pushing the boundaries with fashion. The collections and brands exhibiting this year will share their creativity and individuality with attendees and provide a new perspective on menswear and womenswear.”
