Outdoor Retailer Summer Market (August 5-8) in Salt Lake City, UT is adding more areas for exploration and new events to the show’s already full lineup for a weekend of exploring what’s hot in the outdoor sports industry.

Attendees will notice new additions to the show’s zones designed to connect people associated with various market segments. Venture Out, which focuses on urban lifestyle and trends and a more contemporary, fashion-focused consumer, continues to expand. Since debuting at the summer market in 2014 with 21 brands, the area will now feature over 50. Brands include Duckworth, Seavees, Tentree, Iron & Resin, Pendleton and more.

A new trend and design center will replace what used to be the industrial design zone. The center will host mainly apparel brands, as well as the Industrial Design Society of America. Apparel brands will demonstrate ways they are creating transparency in the supply chain, while displays will show how a garment is put together from the fabric and color choices, to the fasteners and zippers. The center will also feature “The Source Directory,” that will provide brands with different raw material sourcing options.

An important recreational addition for those bringing children will be CampOR, a day camp led by the Boy Scouts of America and free for the children of attendees, media and exhibitors. Boy Scouts will take the children to Milcreek Canyon, just outside of Salt Lake City, for activities like hiking, paddling and rowing.

Entertainment for attendees will include an industry party on the first night in the Street Scene area. Activities span s’mores making with blowtorches, whiskey tasting and a mechanical bull. On the final night, following the Pacific Northwest Fest, there will be a Revival Music Party with an opportunity for the industry to come together for a music collaboration at The Depot.
