Mercedes-Benz is ending its title sponsorship for New York Fashion Week (NYFW). After the Fall ’15 collections are presented in February, the fashion event will go by the new abbreviated moniker, NYFW.

A Mercedes-Benz spokesperson said the company’s relationship with NYFW is “evolving” and it will continue to support over 50 fashion engagements in 30 countries. The automobile company will remain the title sponsor for the 2015 fashion weeks in Australia, Berlin, Istanbul and Miami.

It has been a season of change for NYFW. Last month NYFW owner IMG was court-ordered to move to show from its Lincoln Center location later this year, after green spaces advocates said the event violated state doctrine on park access and harmed the area’s greenery.

Speculation on the show’s new location reached fever pitch this week when rumors surfaced that IMG plans to acquire Made Fashion Week, a rival downtown show hosted in and around the Meatpacking District’s Milk Studios. The deal is expected to be complete in time for the September shows.
