Balmain is getting up close and personal with the Kardashian-Wests. The not-so-camera shy power couple——and good friends will Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing——is fronting the luxury label’s Spring ’15 campaign called, “The Balmain Love.”
The photos, unveiled Monday on Kim Kardashian’s Instagram account, depict Kardashian clad in black mesh with her hair slicked back, and Kanye West dressed in his signature deep V-neck T-shirt and blazer. In another photo, Kardashian dons a glittery yellow dress, while West wears a Chevron leather top. Within 30 minutes of posting the photos online, Kardashian received 3,000 retweets.
Rousteing said the campaign, which was shot by Mario Sorrentini, captures a moment of love. He added, “Kim and Kanye are style icons and friends. It is an honor to have them in this Balmain campaign. Together, they represent love, beauty and diversity—they are the new modernity. This is more than a campaign, it expresses something beyond clothes—it is a celebration of love and friendship. This is a new statement for Balmain.”
The newlyweds are loyal fans of the designer, who created Kardashian’s lace wedding dress for the couple’s nuptials in May. Most recently, the duo wore the label during Paris Fashion Week, where they were routinely booed by the hard-to-please Parisian fashion crowd.
It isn’t the first time Rousteing has called on his famous friends to star in Balmain ads. Rihanna was the face of the brand’s Spring/Summer ’13 womenswear campaign.
