To mark Japan’s friendship with the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire, Japan Blue Jeans has launched a special edition pair of jeans to support the West African nation.

The stripped down Cote d’Ivoire Cotton Jean uses long staple cotton harvested and hand-picked in the Ivory Coast, which keeps the cotton closer to its original state and feels more natural than other garments produced by machines.

Inside pockets are printed with silhouettes of Japan and Africa, while the selvedge contains colors that represent both Japanese and Cote d’Ivoire flags. The tapered fit jean is finished with an exclusive cowhide leather patch branded with the denim maker’s logo and ‘100% Cote d’Ivoire Cotton.’

Japan Blue Jean will donate one percent of all sales of the $200 jean to the Embassy of Cote d’Ivoire in an effort to help develop the country’s cotton industry. The jean is available at Japan Blue Jean’s flagship store, online and in 10 retail stores worldwide.
