Isko I-SKOOL celebrated the close of its second student design contest on July 2 in Milan with a glamorous event to honor the participants and winners.

Approximately 40,000 students from fashion schools around the globe were challenged to create denim garments for four themes: Bohemian Blue, Couture Denim, Active Jeanswear and Future Fit. The top students were invited to Isko’s Creative Room showroom in Italy to learn how to further develop their designs.

The winners were announced during “Blue Starry Night”, a plush fashion show party hosted by Kay Rush.

Sophie Gauden from Artesis Plantijn University College took top honors for Bohemian Blue; Chia Yi Hung from ESMOD Munich won best in Couture Denim; Violante Toscani from Polimoda won in the Active Jeanswear category; and Franziska Meierhoefer from ESMOD Munich won for her Future Fit designs. Niccol Pasqualetti of IUAV was named the most promising talent by Denim Première Vision.

The ceremony also recognized students in the running for the Denim Marketing Award in partnership with the communications agency Menab Group. Students were tasked to design a strategic marketing plan and actions need to communicate the importance of components in the final denim garment.

Two students tied for the Denim Marketing Award, representing the two different approaches. Alessandra Raio from Sapienza University won for her marketing approach, while Franziska Sauerwein from AMFI nabbed the honor for her more fashion-focused plan.
