Gap Inc.’s expansion in China continues. The company announced that it has opened a flagship store on JD.com, China’s largest online direct sales company. The online store will use the same marketplace platform that gives hundreds of international brands and manufacturers access to the site’s massive base of Chinese shoppers.

The store offers about 600 Gap products for men, women and children. Shoppers will also have access to exclusive JD.com discounts.

Gap’s partnership with JD.com reaffirms the retailer’s commitment to growing its Chinese market. Gap vice president of ecommerce May Ng said, “As a leading global retailer, our unique American casual style and brand position resonate strongly with Chinese consumers, enabling us to significantly expand our presence in the China market.”

Haoyu Shen, JD Mall CEO, said, “We are delighted to launch this partnership with The Gap and provide our tens of millions of customers access to their clothing and other items. Bringing an iconic American brand like The Gap to our site further strengthens our selection of apparel, which is consistently among JD.com’s fastest growing and most popular categories.”
