From Sci-Fi fashion design to The Hunger Games, G-Star’s young new creative director has his sights set on the future.
G-Star has announced their appointment of Aitor Throup as their new creative director. Throup has worked for G-Star as a creative consultant since 2013 helping with projects like their 3-D denim printing design, G-Stars London flagship store and its “What is Raw” campaign.
Before G-Star, Throup has worked as a creative consultant for soccer brand Umbro, an art director and stylist for ID and helped design the costumes for The Hunger Games films. Throup also runs the London design house A.T. Studio where he designs his clothing line New Object Research.
During men’s fashion week in Paris, G-Star released an exclusive collection titled “Raw Research” which was designed by Throup. The 20-piece collection focuses on streetwear influences and technical fabrics.
