Freitag is expanding its biodegradable F-ABRIC collection. This fall the Swiss company is introducing 100 percent compostable five-pocket jeans to the market.
The line of rivet-less denim twill jeans is made with sustainably produced bast fiber grown in Europe and tested at Freitag’s factory. The jeans’ makeup is 81 percent linen and 19 percent true hemp. Once the buttons have been removed, the jeans are compostable, including its Herringbone lining and the logo label.
The men’s line is available now, and includes a 19 oz. jean in a classic five-pocket cut. The women’s range will launch in October and offers a 17 oz. pant. Jeans are available in dark blue and black and feature selvage and lap seams to protect heavy-wear areas. Jeans retail for $245.
Freitag, best known for its heavy duty bags and accessories, launched F-ABRIC in 2014. The line now offers T-shirts, work shirts and pants and jumper dresses.
