What does 35 look like in denim years?
For Guess, which will mark its 35th anniversary with Spring ’17 Guess Original collection loaded with vintage-inspired patches and washes, it means rolling out a diverse collection of throwback favorites, modern basics and athleisure-inspired denim.
Rivet got a sneak peek at the collection. Here’s some of our favorites items.
The Denim Sweatshirt
Denim and activewear collide in this Frankenstein take on athleisure. The top’s boxy shape and seaming modernize the look.
The Deconstructed Skirt
The influence of Paris-based label Vetements is evident in this skirt by Guess. The skirt is effortless cool with a worn-in hand feel, fringe and trendy uneven hem.
Guess’ offers a lightweight alternative to this fall’s It item, the bomber jacket. We love this one in particular for its unique pull string collar and roomy sleeves.
We like this visually arresting update to the comfy jogger. The jacquard jogger is accented with a bold racing stripes and allover abstract print.
The Denim Jacket
Is it a dress? Is it a jacket? We say its both. Guess adds another layer of interest to the long trucker trend with a mishmash of washes.
The Mini Backpack
Guess updates the 90’s classic, the mini backpack, with au courant floral embroidery.
The Bermuda Short
Get the look of being shipwrecked without the ordeal with these summer-friendly shorts. Guess knows how to make long shorts sexy with slim fits, stretch and heavy distressing.
Thanks to Tencel, Guess transforms the denim tank top into a garment that is wearable, touchable and huggable. We like this tank’s nod to lingerie with empire seaming and fabric covered buttons.
This denim vest takes style cues from the bomber with handy pockets and roomy fit. The vest also speaks to the vintage-seeking customer with its duo of retro washes and prominent logo patch.
Guess cleans up its skinny moto jean for spring. We like this parred down look and brighter wash.
