DL1961 and The Honest Company Founder and actress Jessica Alba share more than the desire to create a more ecofriendly world. The New York-based denim brand partnered with Alba to co-design an 18-piece capsule collection inspired by the actress’ busy lifestyle and classic style.
The JAxDL collection includes skinny, skinny ankle, flare, cropped moto and drop crotch tapered cuts, as well as a button-front jumpsuit. A majority of styles feature DL1961’s Instasculpt slimming and recovery properties.
“I’m very excited to join the DL team. It’s my first foray into fashion design, but I know I want to design for women of every body type. Feeling beautiful and confident in a pair of jeans is what every woman wants, and I want to be able to give them that,” said Alba in a press release.
The pairing is a natural fit. DL1961 is known for its uses of unique fiber blends and technology to develop its denim in an ecofriendly process. The brand has reduced usage of water, energy and chemicals utilized in its manufacturing process by nearly half. Alba’s The Honest Company promotes healthy lifestyles and high manufacturing standards with a range of baby, home, personal care products and more. Alba starred in the brand’s Spring ’16 ad campaign.
“Jessica embodies the spirit of the DL woman—confident, style conscious and business savvy,” said Sarah Ahmed, DL1961 creative director. “Our goal together is to offer women a superior product that makes them feel great, while also having an impact on the environment,” she added.
