For the May 27-28 show in Barcelona, Denim Première Vision is notably dropping the ‘by’ to better align itself with premium designers, denim experts and professionals, and to create a “constellation” of trends, specialties and opportunities for the jeanswear industry.

With the 16th edition—the third in Barcelona since leaving Paris—Denim Première Vision aims to assert itself as an “essential meeting point and source of inspiration.” The trade fair is expected to draw 4,000 international visitors (including Rivet staff) from premium and high-end fashion and jeanswear brands, designers and major luxury brands.

The show has confirmed 97 exhibitors, a combination of weavers, manufacturers/launderers/finishers, accessory makers, fiber producers and spinners and technology developers, to showcase their Fall/Winter 2016-2017 products.

Exhibitors include Lenzing, Artistic Fabric Mills, Cone Denim, Bossa, Swift Denim, Toray and more.

Among the roster are 10 new exhibiting companies that have been rigorously selected. Other companies, including Brazil’s Vicunha, Kurabo Industries from Japan and Italian manufacturer Martelli are returning to Denim Première Vision after hiatuses.

Orta Anadolu and Garmon Chemicals will host a seminar both days of the show outlining their collaboration to address the need for commercial innovation in denim fabric processing.

Attendees can also get a taste of history at The Denim Museum, a pop-up museum by Jeanologia that will showcase vintage objects from weavers, antique garments and examine how technology has changed the denim industry.
