Cherokee Global Brands announced it has extended its agreement for the Cherokee brand with Nishimatsuya Chain Co. Ltd., the popular Japanese children’s retailer.
Cherokee is currently licensed in 50 countries internationally. The brand has been working with Nishimatsuya in Japan for five years, and this extension will extend through Jan. 31, 2020. Nishimatsuya will produce a wide range of categories for babies and children, including clothing, footwear, accessories and home products.
Kazuo Fujisaki, executive officer of Nishimatsuya Chain Co. Ltd. said he hopes the offerings from Cherokee will help create a point of difference for his company in the marketplace. Nishimatsuya holds a strong position in children’s retail with 874 locations throughout Japan.
