Amsterdam brand Benzak Denim Developers is crowdfunding to launch a line of jeans made in Europe. Benzak has been producing premium jeans in Japan for four years and is launching the European line as a “little brother” collection sold at a lower price point.

The line will carry contemporary, basic product, with focus placed on fit and fabric. The line will not compromise on quality, still using premium selvedge denim and heavy-duty stitching. The fabric is being supplied by Candiani, and the line will be produced in small ateliers in Portugal.

The jeans will retail for €179, compared to the Japanese line which sells for €300 a pair, the higher price associated with shipping costs. The first 50 people to back the project on Kickstarter will receive a pair of jeans for €129.
