Artistic Fabric Mills (AFM) is staying in shape. The Pakistan-based denim supplier is introducing a collection called <3% Low Growth Denim, a range of stretch denim fabrics with high elasticity and superior recovery tested to guarantee less than three percent growth.
Geared toward designers that want to explore denim leggings, activewear and other shape-holding silhouettes, the <3% collection is AFM’s solution to stretched out knees and waistbands. Growth control is an attribute in fabrics that helps hold shape after stretching. AFM has developed multiple growth control technologies that offer new levels of stretch. The fabrics come in various weights and shades as well as popular fiber technologies including Invista DualFX, Lycra Beauty and CoolMax.
The super stretch fabrications were 10 years in the making.
“Fabrics with higher elongation percentages provide amazing movement and comfort but, if not engineered carefully, can result in jeans becoming misshapen after prolonged wearing,” said AFM director Hasan Javed.” Our <3% low growth fabrics address this issue while offering superior stretch performance even at over 100% stretch.”
The collection will be available at Kingpins Amsterdam, Denim by Premiere Vision Barcelona and Kingpins New York.
