American Eagle Outfitter’s spring collection for men alludes to the oncoming “Denim Dads” trend.
The denim-focused retailer previewed it’s Spring ’18 collection in New York last week revealing the introduction of wider cut, mid-tone “Dad jeans” for men. The brand brings the Dad look full throttle with cuffed hems, throwback logo tees, generic caps, plaid button-downs and soccer slides with socks.
The looser fits are a sharp contrasted to the collection’s slashed skinnies and distressed jean shorts.
For women, American Eagle continues to place its bets on vintage rises and washes. High-rise skinnies, straight leg and Mom jeans dominate the jean collection. The line includes heavy distressing, pale washes and clean looks.
American Eagle goes one of two ways with embroidery this season. The embellishment is subtle as pocket detail, or bold as an all-over print.
The brand revisits the the early aughts with denim mini skirts and cut-off shorts. The tiny bottoms are balanced with oversized boyfriend-style jean jackets, which sees the introduction of lavender as an alternative to millennial pink.
