Alexa Chung has made her mark on everything from modeling to TV hosting. Now the British tastemaker is putting a stamp on denim with her first collaboration with AG Adriano Goldschmied.
For the 20-piece collection, coined Alexa for AG, Chung channeled the style of Sixties icons Brigitte Bardot, Jane Birkin and Francoise Hardy. The line includes indigo denim, A-line button-front skirts, overalls and high-waisted jeans, which Chung has begun to model on her Instagram account.
Chung told Vogue UK, “I just wanted to make clothes that I would be really happy wearing. As well as making my dream skinny jeans, I wanted to make vintage-inspired jeans that felt comfortable like modern-day jeans do, taking old-school silhouettes but making sure that the modern technology that we have today would make them wearable.”
The Alexa for AG line launched at Selfridges in London on Jan. 15 with an in-store appearance by Chung. It will also be sold on Mastchesfashion.com and Stylebop.com.
